He was part of the theater productions of the group La Mueca, alongside Oswaldo Segura, Amparo Guillén, his brother Héctor Garzón, and Sandra Pareja, at Teatro El Ángel. His television debut was in 1987 in the costumbrista Ecuavisa series Mis Adorables Entenados, where he played Pablo Vera. The series ran until 1991 on the channel and was rebroadcast several times. Later, it was adapted into a film, in which Garzón also took part as a director. In 1999, he participated in several episodes of the program De la Vida Real. He was also part of the cast of the telenovela Jocelito on TC Televisión, and in 2005 he starred in Amores que matan, alongside Flor María Palomeque and Maricela Gómez. In 2008, he was part of the cast of La Novela del Cholito, where he played the antagonist Justin Soto, sharing credits with David Reinoso, Giovanna Andrade, and again Flor María Palomeque. That same year, he also participated in El Secreto de Toño Palomino, starring Martín Calle and Carolina Jaume. In 2010, he joined Gama TV, where he directed the comedy program Puro Teatro. In 2016, he returned to Ecuavisa and participated in the telenovela 3 Familias, where he played the antagonist Armando Paz for three seasons. That same year, he narrated urban legends of the city of Guayaquil for its 481st anniversary. In 2019, he joined TC Televisión, where he directed the telenovela Calle Amores, starring Dora West, Christian Maquilón, and Carolina Jaume. In 2020, he directed and participated in Antuca Me Enamora, where he played León Andrade; he also worked as casting director. That same year, the actor revealed that he was diagnosed with prediabetes. In 2014, he appeared in the film Medardo, where he played Don Bonifacio.
