Career Before entering television, Velasteguí’s dream was to become a bank teller. Catherine Velasteguí was part of the comedy program Vivos. She was also part of the comedy show La Pareja Feliz, where she played Rayovac. In 2014, she played Pía, a divorced and deceived woman, in the stage play Intimidades no tan íntimas, directed by Andrés Garzón, alongside Pamela Palacios, who played Romina, a feminist woman; Carolina Jaume, who played Eva, a fun-loving and outgoing woman; and Andrea Ordóñez, who played Íntima, a woman in charge of cleaning the bathrooms. During 2015, she was part of the cast of the web series Sigo Siendo el Rey, alongside Carolina Jaume, Alberto Cajamarca, Paola Farías, Jonathan Estrada, and Chino Moreira, directed by Pedro Valenzuela. On December 16, 2015, Velasteguí joined the entertainment program Vamos Con Todo on RTS, becoming a new featured talent alongside María Mercedes Pacheco. On December 27, 2017, her contract with VCT ended; she decided not to renew it and did not have a farewell on the show. At the beginning of 2018, she joined the radio program Radiación Temprana on Radio Canela, alongside Tomás Delgado and Emerson Morocho, after posting a prank video on December 28, 2017, saying she would be part of the program, which was widely well received by the audience. In September 2018, alongside David Reinoso, she premiered the show Tan Davicho on Teleamazonas, a parody program that marked the return of Velasteguí and Reinoso to television. Personal life In 2013, she divorced her husband David Reinoso, with whom she has a son named Dante. At the end of 2016, David Reinoso and Catherine Velasteguí gave their relationship another chance and managed to rebuild their family. In the early hours of July 16, 2019, while returning to Guayaquil with actors Emerson Morocho and David Reinoso after a performance in El Carmen, they were involved in a traffic accident.
