His role in the program did not have major impact on his career, but it was there where he began working alongside actor Galo Recalde, developing many of the characters that would later boost him to fame in 1997. Directed by Jorge Douglas Toledo and with Galo Recalde as his partner, they created the television program Ni en Vivo Ni en Directo, which quickly became one of the most successful shows in Ecuador, achieving high audience ratings until 1999. In this program, the characters “Moti” and “Pescao,” performed by Reinoso and Recalde respectively, gained the greatest popularity due to their charisma and comedic situations. In 2001, he joined the Ecuadorian channel Ecuavisa with a new program called Vivos. The show, with a format similar to the previous one and featuring some of Reinoso’s recurring characters, is no longer on air due to a lawsuit against the program for defamation regarding the portrayal of a man in a comedic imitation inspired by his appearance in En Carne Propia, known as “Amor, Comprensión y Ternura.” Reinoso has been characterized by humor that often plays with double meanings, homophobia, and racism, and his main strength as a comedian is his skill in disguise and character transformation. His performances, parodies of public figures, and catchphrases have become part of Ecuadorian popular slang. At the end of 2007, he starred in La Novela del Cholito alongside Giovanna Andrade and Flor María Palomeque, where he portrayed one of his most popular comedy characters. The production achieved high ratings and aired its final episode on May 9, 2008. David Reinoso has been heavily criticized by media reviewers for contributing to what they describe as the stagnation and mediocrity of Ecuadorian television audiences. From 2009, he worked at Teleamazonas, where he starred in the series La Pareja Feliz and La Tremebunda Corte. Although in recent years he has focused mainly on television work, he has also returned to theater, where he began his career. In 2016, he returned to TC Televisión, where he played a villain for the first time in his career in the telenovela Los Hijos de Don Juan. The following year, he participated in Cuatro Cuartos, playing Don Cheche Pincay. In 2020, he began his career as a presenter on the comedy program Feik Nius, alongside Víctor Aráuz and Álex Vizuete. In 2021, he starred in the TC Televisión series Juntos y Revueltos, where he played Leonardo, alongside Érika Vélez.
