At the age of 12, he began knocking on the doors of local radio stations to see if they needed an announcer, but many of them rejected him because they did not believe in the potential of that little boy. However, that did not stop him. At 13, he heard that a classmate at school was working at a radio station, which encouraged him to try again. Eventually, at Radio Vía, he was given a casting opportunity—more out of curiosity than belief in his talent. “I used to do voice-over work in rhyme, and although they liked it, they told me not to rhyme so much. It was 1997, and I earned my first salary as a radio announcer.” Three months later, he auditioned for Súper Sol, already an FM station. There, he began creating characters because he was working alone and wanted someone to act as a partner. This is how he created “Negro Matamba,” a character from Puerto Bolívar, and also portrayed “El Cholito,” a character from David Reinoso.
